Watchmen review
Ok. So I finally saw the movie I've been waiting a year to see. I have to say, it was well worth the wait. This was an amazing experience. Watchmen was visually stunning. Zack Snyder has uncanny ability to recreate the world of Watchmen. But it doesn't stop there. The adaptation is very faithful to the source material, to the point of replication in some areas, including Dr. Manhattan's trip to Mars. But as I'm saying this, I know in my mind that this movie will have split opinion among movie goers. In my mind, this movie was a masterpiece, a well thought out, detailed, visually complex, character-driven movie that honors the graphic novel even while changing the ending, which while being different, produces the same effect as the original ending and maintains the messages and themes of the book. I will probably see this one again as it lends itself to multiple viewings. For now though, I give it 4 stars.

ReplyDeleteI thought the movie was fantastic. Nite Owl II is my new favorite, cuz he is a nerd that gets to be a vigilante. I can't wait for the DVD with the black freighter clips. :D
