TobyMac in concert.
What can I say? It was awesome!
For those you who are unaware and obviously haven't known me very long, I'm a huuuuuuuge TobyMac fan, but more so DCTalk. When I was in elementary school, I had a baby sitter who introduced me to DCTalk by bringing one of her tapes over. It was Free at Last, DCTalk's 3rd album. From then on I was hooked. When Jesus Freak, their Grammy Award winning album, came out, everyone was talking about it and I would say, "DCTalk? They've been around for years!" DCTalk after making one more studio album, Supernatural, decided to go there separate ways and each member is currently doing solo work. TobyMac has been the most successful, while Kevin Max and Tait haven't done so well, but still make good music.
Anyway, Sunday night I had the opportunity to see Toby again. I got second row seats thanks to 2 friends. Thanks Courtney and Monica, you rock! Rob Shepherd, a long time friend, minister of Community Groups and Students at WEC, and a Jesus Freak like myself, sat next to me. Now you have to understand, Rob and I have been to virtually every TobyMac concert that has come to the area, but have never sat next to each other. That is until Sunday night. I was amazed at how much energy he had considering he had preached 4 times on a difficult topic. But then again, I knew Rob's love for Toby. So it was no surprise. It was a great time and everything I've come to expect from Toby was delivered and more.
