Steadfast Love

If there's one thing about God that continually amazes me, it's the fact that God never gives up on me, but continues to love me despite my failures and transgressions.

And every time I read the Bible, even in the darkest times of Israel's history, there was a glimmer of hope, a remnant of a people still committed to God, a second chance for those who would commit to Him.

Recently I was reminded of an old song I used to sing growing up in church.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.
His mercies never come to an end
They are new every morning
New every morning
Great is thy faithfulness, oh Lord.
Great is thy faithfulness.

Even in the midst of your greatest trial
Even in times of temptation
Even when darkness seems like it will drown you
Even when death's shadow seems to be darkening your life,

God is there.

I have to continually remind myself of that fact. In fact, God loved me so much that He inhabited human flesh, which is another crazy idea. Man, what a mighty God we Christians serve.
