Daring to Dream

My fellow blog readers, I have come today to apologize for not being more faithful with my blog. So I decided that not only would I enter my blog, but I would share some photos with you as well.

So last night I was in VA Beach at my friend Travis' house (pictured on the left foreground). I go there periodically to just hang out, eat, and eventually we have a serious discussion on some spiritually related issue. Herbert, Travis' roommate asked us "If you could do anything for Christ right now, no holds bar, what would it be?" I didn't even have to think about this one. I have 2 big dreams.

1. That the college age generation would be set on fire for Christ.

2. That the name of Christ would be restored in America. I feel like a false representation of Christ is dominating in America today and it's up to the Church and myself to restore the correct image of Christ.

So we had some prayer time and then Herbert challenged us. He challenged us to begin fasting and praying.

For those of you who may not know what fasting is, it's basically giving up something really, really valuable up to the Lord for a set period of time that you may grow closer to him. In the Bible times, the typical thing people fasted from was food. However, I have personally participated in other types of fasts such as a 30-day digital fast where the computer, TV, video games, and music (except for Praise and Worship) were excluded. It was hard at first, but once I started getting into a routine, I realized what I'd been missing with God.

Okay, so back to today. I've committed to stick to this thing. I don't know where I'm going to start other than praying about it. But I know God will give me opportunities to fulfill these dreams, I just pray my eyes can see it and take hold of it.

Also, I would like to challenge you to take hold of the dreams God has placed in your heart. It's time to come out of the box and start taking hold of what God has in store for us. Just like these leaves decided they didn't want to be green anymore.
