Christmas with the Ferrells

Once again I must apologize for this late entry. But considering I spent the time off with family enjoying Christmas, I think you'll let me slide. Anyway, that's what this blog entry is about. I wanted to share with you all not only what I received for Christmas, but what I gave. So let's start off from the beginning. First off you should know that as a family, we decided to open Christmas presents early on Christmas Eve. This was to get it out of the way because we had an important and busy day ahead of us on Christmas Day. I got my mom a season of one of her favorite TV shows growing up: I Love Lucy. It also happens to be one of my favorites as well, but I caught it in syndication on cable. For my dad, I got a set of cologne. Apparently he was wanting some (I asked my mom). For my sister I knew just what would please her fancy. When she was with us for Thanksgiving she mentioned that her favorite movie was Sabrina. No, not the classic with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, but the new version with Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, and Julia Ormond. So I got her both versions at a nearby MovieStop. For my brother, I got Wall * E and we watched it that night. My dad fell asleep. But my brother and sister enjoyed it. For those of you who haven't seen it, it's a 4-star movie and one of the best films of the year. Christmas morning I also fed the homeless, which is what I would consider the best gift I gave because it follows the example of Jesus. And what better way to celebrate His birth than by doing what he would want. Now on to what I got, which is less important but pretty cool.

Here's the list:

1. Star Wars: Force Unleashed
2. Mario Kart (Wii)
3. Call of Duty : World at War (with Wii Zapper)
4. The Case for the Real Jesus by Lee Strobel (I'm a big fan of his work. I love apologetics)
5. Season 3 of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (Yes, I have the first 2)
6. Season 5 of Monk
7. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (movie)
8. The Right Stuff (1983 movie that one 4 Oscars)
9. It's A Wonderful Life
10. A Dennis Swanberg video
11. A shirt from my Grandfather
12. A stocking full of candy
13. Flyleaf's self-titled album with bonus DVD
14. A set of cologne (the same as my dad's)
15. A $10 gift card to Regal Cinema (from a co-worker)

So as you can see, I got a lot, but it wasn't really what my Christmas was all about. The most important thing was remembering Christ's birth and showing his love to those less fortunate. That's what Christmas is all about.

Love you guys. I'll be back soon with a new post in the near future.
