The Answer to a Paradox: Love
Have you ever thought of the paradox of God?
We will never fully understand Him. We can't begin to comprehend the complexity of His creation, the richness of His love and the level of His power and yet it takes the faith of a child to be ushered into His presence.
It's the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that both baffles me and makes me rejoice.
Just think about this for a minute: why would a God who is pure, holy, righteous, and wanting nothing to do with sin, be wrapped in the very same flesh we're wrapped in, be tempted in the same way we're tempted, and live a human life?
For 2 reasons:
1. To show us that one man can be in right relationship with God and walk in power of the Holy Spirit. I may be in the minority in this but I don't think Jesus called upon His divinity to perform miracles, but rather God the Father performed miracles through Jesus. If you don't understand me still, sit down with me and I'll explain it.
2. God's unstoppable, unshakable love.
When I look at the heart of God our Father and His Son, Jesus, it makes sense that His way is simple to believe, but hard to live. Otherwise, we would rely on ourselves and not lean on Him. Our flesh and our Spirit are so intertwined and constantly at a struggle.
Perhaps this is why Paul said in Corinthians to put off the old man. It is a paradox not unlike the one Jesus had. We house the Holy Spirit inside a human body. The same Spirit that He walked in dwells within us.
So walk in that Spirit and remember that the skin you wear was the same skin that Christ wore.
